Today was a very eventful day for us. We took apart our cherished baby crib that we've used the last (nearly) 5 years and put up a twin bed for Justo. He was so cute. When it was all taken apart leaning against our bed, he said he wanted it back and whimpered. We negotiated a photo op of the two of them with their beloved crib. Luna was also very attached to the crib. She slept in it until she was nearly 3 years old. In fact, eventhough Justo was 10 months old when we left Manila, he slept in a portable crib for 6 months in DC because Luna was so attached to it. She probably would have stayed it in a lot longer except we had to move from Washington DC to Guadalajara and were without it for about 2 months. Finally when we moved to Guadalajara she was weaned from it to a bed so Justo finally got his turn.
I remember shopping for that crib in San Jose and finally ordering it in Washington DC. I was 7 months pregnant with Luna when we drove across country to start Martin's career with the State Department.
It's amazing how different the room feels without the crib and with two twin beds. Our babies are growing up. Justo's still sleeping with a diaper but it won't be long until that's gone too. Don't think we'll give away the crib just yet. Who knows what the future has in store.
